OUR HISTORY

Sunday West was born in the late noughties during the boom period of East London day time and early morning underground after parties. Founder Rufus, West London born and bred, took it upon himself to ensure the West side party starters had their very own shindig in the manor. The event started off life as an all day Sunday party in the Summer, at the Ravenous Café on Portobello Road, with its secluded garden and yurt covered Soundsystem.

After one summer, this quickly outgrew itself, and the event and its trusted residents held further events at Blag Club, Woody’s before staging their first large scale events at Subtrerrania and the canal side Junction Arms. In 2012 the first Carnival event was held at The Garden Bar & Grill in Latimer Road, with its epic outdoor space.

Over a four year period this event became the number one house music destination at Notting Hill Carnival, with world class dj bookings and tickets regularly selling out months in advance. With great sadness, the venue was aligned with a new property development, thus ending the ability to stage events there. Whilst coveting our new venue, Loft Studios, Sunday West went into hibernation, and well, we all know what happened next. Post pandemic and Sunday West is back with a statement of intent, more mature and ambitious than ever before.
